Hello and welcome to Pouncival Bengals, the Bengal breeding programme of Paul & Andrea Thompson. We are based in Ascot, Berkshire just an hour from central London.
We take pride in raising people oriented, loving and well socialised Bengal kittens. All of our kittens are raised in our home from day one with loads of human interaction, both that of adult and child. They consider humans as friends with which they are eager to share their lives. We as parents teach our children to love and respect animals. This extends to the Bengal kittens that we raise, as the children are active participants in the upbringing of our furry friends.
We also want to show our appreciation for our breeding mentor, Liz Richmond-Watson of Owlsdene Bengals. From her programme we came home in autumn 2007 with our first two Bengals kittens, Wesley and Buttercup. Since then Liz has shared with us her passion for the breed, her dedication to hygienic and compassionate breeding practices, and her love for Bengal cats. Thank you for sharing your passion for Bengals with us, Liz!
Buttercup delivered her 4th litter of kittens on 17 February. This time around, she has one very lovely black marble girl and two brown spot boys in the bunch. The babies are now one month old, and all three are eager to explore the confines of our bedroom, out of thier birthing box. Many times when we open the door to our bedroom, the kittens run out of their box to greet us, dancing on our toes with their tiny little paws. I love this stage of kittenhood!
The kittens are now old enough to meet visitors in our home. Already one boy (Pouncival Alfa Romeo) has been reserved, and we predict the remaining boy (Pouncival Lotus) and girl (Pouncival Lexus) will be reserved in no time. Thus, if you would like to schedule an appointment to meet Lotus or Lexus, you might do so quickly!
You will rarely find kittens as social as Pouncival Bengal kittens. All of our cats are first and foremost our pets. Our kittens are very used to loads of adult human interaction from birth to their first month, and after that point our children get to hold and play with the kittens more and more. Therefore, Pouncival bengal kittens are NOT going to be skiddish and shy with their new owners.
Pictures to come soon here, or if you are on Facebook, check out our Pouncival Bengals fanpage to see pics of the three newest additions to the family!
We have just one lovely kitty remaining from our most recent mating of Buttercup. We call him Skimbleshanks, or Skimbles for short. Of course, you may call him what you like. ;)
Anyhow, Skimbles has actually learned to play fetch! Recently my wife took this (rather yellow!) cameraphone video of Skimbles at his new game. We hope you enjoy! We sure do...
Interested in learning more about Skimbleshanks? Contact us today as we would love to tell you more about him.
Or perhaps wander over to our Pouncival Bengals Facebook fan page and see more photos and videos, including some nice ones of Bengals playing with the infamous Da Bird cat toy!
